Kerala - Munnar-Thekkady 4N-5D

Day 1: Cochin- Munnar

Arrival at Cochin airport/ railway station. Then to Munnar (120kms- 3 hrs). This beautiful hill station was once the summer capital of the British Government in India. The never ending vast expanse of tea plantations and the round the year moderate climate makes it a little haven for visitors. The day at leisure

Day 2: Munnar

Morning after breakfast to Rajamala (15 km from Munnar). This is the natural habitat of the Neelgiri Thars. Half of the world's population of these rare mountain goats is found here. Then to Marayoor. This route will give you a complete view of the natural beauty of Munnar. Lunch at Marayoor. Marayoor is the only place in Kerala where there is a natural growth of sandalwood trees. Another attraction is the Muniyaras or caves, which dates back to the new Stone Age and the children's park formed under the canopy of single Banyan tree spread across a hectare of land. In the evening they can spend some time near the Thoovanam Waterfalls. By night fall back at the resort in Munnar.

Day 3: Munnar -Thekkady

After breakfast to Thekkady (119 kms). Check in at the hotel in Thekkady. Then its time for a plantation tour covering tea, coffee, cardamom, pepper and rubber plantations. By 3 pm at Periyar lake around which the sanctuary is built for boating. Thekkady is one of the finest wildlife reserves in the world. Noted for its geomorphology, diversity of wildlife and scenic beauty the sanctuary attracts tourists form across the globe. This is the only sanctuary in India where you can have the unique experience of viewing the wildlife at close quarters from the safety of a boat. The greatest attraction in Thekkady is the herds of elephants that come down to the lake to play. By 6.30 back in the resort.

Day 4: Cochin

After breakfast, transfer to cochin and then in afternoon for a bit of city site seeing or shopping. By evening drop at Bus station/ railway station/ airport for onward journey.
